Biography
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Vee Allen, known poetically as Lady Syren, is a spoken word artist, author, and healing arts advocate whose work centers Black womanhood, emotional liberation, and survival. A lifelong writer and performer, she merges lived experience with her degree in Human Services to create sacred spaces where art becomes a catalyst for transformation.
She has graced national stages—from ODUNDE Festival to City Winery—and published Crowned in Melanin, a powerful poetic tribute to Blackness and womanhood. Through performance and workshop facilitation, Lady Syren uses words to restore, empower, and awaken.
